Instagram Is Now Available!
Today, I’m excited to announce the latest addition to Redman’s family of social media links- exclusively for your Redman real estate website (drumroll please)…Instagram! Thanks to this new update, you’re now just a click away from connecting your Instagram account to your website. We’ve often talked about the importance of social media platforms when it comes to our website’s overall SEO; and, this addition will help agents solidify their social media presence. If you’re not sure how to use Instagram for your real estate website, check out the tips below!
5 Tips To Use Instagram- For Real Estate Agents
- Treat it like a real estate ad. Say you’re pulling up to an Open House, it literally takes less than 3 minutes to click on your Instagram app, snap a picture of the “Open House” or “For Sale” sign and post it. Simply include the location, time, and your contact number. You can also use Instagram to promote a real estate listing.
- Automatically post it to your other social media streams. You can post your Instagram photos to a real estate Facebook page, as well as Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, and FourSquare!
- Showcase your personality. What makes Instagram so special is that it has more of a personalized approach. You could hire someone to drive around the city to take pictures and post them on your Instagram account, but why bother when YOU’RE the one at the showing, in the home staging, or at the real estate conference? For inspiration, look at Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson’s Instagram account.
- Use popular hashtags. I’m literally looking at my Instagram phone application right now and there are 156,580 posts with the hashtag “homes.” #realestate has over 400 thousand. #forsale has 2,377,877 to be exact. There’s 3 hashtags you can use, add in the name of your primary location (such as #Toronto) and you’re all set!
- Show me what’s great about the city where you live. Take a picture of a park, the sunset, kids playing in your neighbourhood, or a family-friendly city event. Show people why they should move there. Remember that sometimes its the little everyday things that captures the hearts of others.
Above all, don’t think of it as a chore. Simply incorporate it to your everyday life. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to use Instagram. You don’t have to be in every photo, be familiar with the special effects, or be a professional photo editor. You just have to get out there and try it!
