A couple weeks back I sat down with a client to discuss some marketing strategies for her new real estate website. The Client has been in the business for well over a dozen years, but wanted to capture more real estate leads.

The conversation was a typical one: I asked if the Client focused on any communities, or certain types of property of clients. She told me that she wanted to make sure she was marketing to everyone ( which is a pretty ordinary response).

It was then I clued in that she spoke with an accent, and I asked her what other language she spoke, other than English. She told me she was fluent in 4 languages: German, Hungarian, Romanian AND English!

I was floored! No where on her real estate website, nor any of her marketing, did she mention she was fluent in 4 languages! That means none of the people in those communities, nor anyone who might be looking online, would know she could be the perfect REALTOR® for them. While she was trying to be all things for everyone, she was forgetting what made her unique as a person, could also make her unique as professional.
