blog-mar-3Redman clients have been keeping us super busy this year and I’ve have been reading a lot about business networking. I thought it would be interesting to combine the two for this blog post. So, this week, I’m featuring, Calgary Realtor®, Bob Dawe. Why? Because I think if I met Bob at a dinner party, I’d take the time to google him after. That’s what you call power. Here’s why I think that:

1) Be Memorable

One of the first things you see on Bob’s Redman Pro Level website (good choice, Bob) is that, in addition to being a Calgary-based Realtor®, he is an Inner City Specialist. Think about it, what sounds more appealing as an introduction?  “I am a Realtor®” or, “I am an Inner-City Specialist.” Screen Shot 2015-03-02 at 4.57.57 PM

Networking Tip: People are more likely to remember something out of the ordinary than the same old lines that every Realtor® uses in his or her bio. Say something that will make people want to ask, “what’s that?” Consider taking a page from Bob’s book and define your niche.

2) Back it Up

Now, depending where you are from, that can mean a variety of things. In this instance, I mean that since Bob is an Inner-City Specialist, by adding the Redman Condo Module to his website, he is prepared.  He knows what’s happening in the condo market and he could even direct me to his website to check out what is available.

Networking Tip: Be prepared for follow-up questions and a deeper dialog about your area of expertise. If they are interested, you should be able to deliver.

3) Back it up Even More

Bob chose to add the Redman Community Module to his website. Why? Because he understands that knowledge is power. The Community Module automatically generates styled pages for each community in your area including listings, stats and local amenities, and provides you plenty of space to add your own content and image to showcase your area expertise.

Networking Tip: When you showcase your knowledge and offer resources for completely free to someone that is not even your client, you build trust. Not only will you come across genuinely helpful but they will feel comfortable to ask you questions in the future.

As for you, Bob. Stay Awesome.
