A New Layout Means A New Way To Market

If you’re a Facebook user, you may have already heard about Facebook’s new streamlined look for business pages. I’m a huge fan of entrepreneurs using social media to market their businesses and couldn’t be happier to read this update is headed our way. Best of all, Canadian REALTORS® (like you) can totally use this to their advantage!

1) Page Information Is Front & Centre

The update: Facebook pages will soon have a column on the left-hand side with detailed information on the page.

How to use this to your advantage: Make sure your Facebook business page has as much information about your company as possible. Add your hours of operation, website URL, and (if you’re a broker) your office location.

2) Quick Access To Admin Tools

The update: New options were added to the Facebook page’s navigation bar at the top. So you can access your page’s analytic information quickly.

How to use this to your advantage: Take some time to look at the traffic on your page . Which posts had the most likes, shares, and comments? What were the posts about? When did you post (day/time)? Who are the people commenting (clients, friends, family)? If  you have a Facebook ad running, take a peek at how your ad is performing compared with your regular posts.

3) Pages To Watch

The update: This is a completely new feature of Facebook, so I’m excited to see how it will be received. It allows page admins to create a list of pages similar to theirs, then compare the performance of each page.

How to use this to your advantage: Creep your competitors! (Don’t feel bad about it either— that’s what this feature is for). Cross-reference their engagement and their followers to yours. Who are they? What are they posting about? Once you find our try to duplicate it in your own way. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
