Does Your Excitement For The Business Show On Your Website and Other Promotions?
During my first year in the real estate business I came into a competition for a listing with one of Edmonton’s most respected and productive Realtors. I went on the appointment to give it my best expecting to at least learn from the experience.
Much to my surprise, the homeowner called the next night to say they wanted to go with me. After the paperwork was completed, I asked Why they choose me when the other Realtor was in my opinion so much more knowledgeable and successful.
They said Wayne, “no doubt he knew the business and the proper pricing of our home, but quite frankly both me and my wife never met anyone who loved their job so much and showed so much enthusiasm for getting the job done. Let’s just say, I never expected that answer.
Now keep in mind, in person, many of us can show our love of the business through confidence, skill, knowledge and our people skills, but overall you must portray a feeling of wanting to be there. This will ultimately make a huge difference in your career.
Remember, you can portray this attitude in all aspects of your Real Estate career. So, where can you start to communicate your love for the business? It should start in your personal promotions and most certainly on your website. It can make the difference in whether they inquire or not. As well as whether it’s a warm or chilly call that starts as ” I have quick question call”.
Here is a short checklist of what you need on your website.
First of all ensure you have as much information about available property on your website as it is a known fact 95% of the people go to a website for that exact reason. Once that is taken care of you can start your personal promotions check list:
- Personalized photography showing you in your best light. Ideally including you with clients doing your job.
- Photography of the area you are working in
- Professional copy that generates the image required
- Maximize the use of videos and audio messages
- Information about the area you work in, make it clear where you dominate the market
- Get rid of generic text and talk to the people directly either in the first person or third party
- Use Headlines to emphasize your offerings
- Emphasize the words “FREE” and “No Obligation” where ever possible
- Once again use pictures in most paragraphs
- Make sure you offer easy contact through offerings where ever selling copy is used
- Include as many testimonials as possible including video and audio
- Use coupons, ensure your phone number is on all promotions and a contact link
- Test many offering, see what works, be willing to update what doesn’t work
- Keep a record of your results.
Web sites work best with a great promotional campaign, your promotions should always include your website and many of the ideas above work with all your promotions.
