Create a Branding Message
A branding message shows your value, it is used to “Identify your promise”; the promise you will make to each of your clients. To create a great one, you want to think of it from 3 sides.
1. Customer Perspective. What matters to your clients?
You don’t want to make assumptions with this, you want input from them so you are clear on what they want, not what you think they want. Take surveys, request honest feedback, anything to get in the minds of your clients.
2. Internal Perspective. What makes you unique?
Really think about it. What makes you stand out, why do people want to work with you? What makes you different from every other REALTOR® on the market? Is it your knowledge of a specific community? Your marketing strategy?
3. Competitor Perspective. What are others saying about themselves?
Do a bit of investigation to ensure what makes you unique really does make you stand out. Your value should be different than anyone else’s. Your specialty is not the same as your competitors, you want to ensure you make yourself different from them, not equal to.
Now What?
You have done the research, you have an idea of what sets you apart and what you want to be known for… what do you do with this? Some people find it easier to visualize all of this information with a Venn Diagram and seeing where the areas intersect. With this, it is easier to find out what your message should be.
You can use this message as a tagline, incorporate it into your website, social media, and any other marketing materials you have.
One of the key items to remember when creating your message is looking to the future and leaving room for growth.
Examples: BMW is the “ultimate driving machine.” Apple customers “think different.” Nike’s message “Just do it”.
