Procrastination: to constantly delay a pending task or project, resulting in a stressful execution of said task or project. Sounds fun, right? While procrastination may seem like self-induced emotional and mental pain, the repercussions of this bad habit can extend beyond the REALTOR’S® sanity.
The message that you convey to your clients contributes to your success in this industry. When you tell them you will do something, do you follow through? Are you diligent in returning their phone calls and scheduling viewings, or do you leave it to the last minute? Do something today that will benefit you in the future.
For example: If you know that Thursday mornings are bad days to meet clients, then schedule your meetings in the afternoon. If you don’t want to be late, write your appointments 10 minutes early in your personal agenda. That way you will always be early or on time- trust us your clients and your future self will thank you! If next week your schedule is full, don’t add more to your plate..that’s setting yourself up for failure.
To artfully master procrastination one must develop greater self-awareness, because no one knows you better than you know yourself.
