Although online success is often gauged by the number of people visiting a site, if those visitors are not converted into leads, is the volume of traffic really an indicator success? When it comes to a website, one factor that converts visitors to leads is the copy. Copy refers to the content of the site. From the paragraphs that make up the meat and potatoes of a page to the text on the buttons, the copy of the site is what will create a connection with potential customers.
As a Redman client you have control over most of the copy on your site. To access an editable version of your site, log into your Agent Work Station, and hit the big green ‘Edit Site’ button in the top right hand corner. You will notice around most of the text on each page, a green box will appear, this highlights exactly what text is editable by you. In this editable version of your site, you can navigate via the standard nav bar to any page of the site and have it be editable. By default, we’ve pre-loaded your site with our stock content. While it is well written and informative, our stock content is not going to be the best long-term solution for your site – there are advantages for highlighting your unique attributes.
Stock content by nature is generic, generalized and repeated across many sites. The things that make you, your team, and your company unique will not be infused into the site by relying on the stock content.
A great way to ease into customizing your Redman website’s content and get comfortable with the systems tools is to scan the content on the interior pages for places where you can add in your Brokerage and/or the area or city you work in. This will instantly boost the appeal of the text and create a connection to you and your company.
At first glance, the thought of re-writing and editing ALL the stock content on your site can feel like a huge, unappealing task. However breaking it down in smaller, manageable phases will make it a bit easier to accomplish.
